Joyce Geddie | Kennesaw

Joyce is a licensed professional counselor who enjoys working with individuals and couples to help them thrive in the lives they have been given. She attained a Master of Arts in marriage and family therapy with a specialization in trauma therapy from Richmont Graduate University. She obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology from Liberty University and is also a registered nurse (RN). She brings her expertise as an RN in the emergency department to her work with clients who have suffered traumatic events in their past.

Joyce provides encouragement and hope to individuals and couples with a variety of presenting issues. Her holistic approach and ability to create a safe and therapeutic environment provides an atmosphere for growth and healing. Her previous work as a nurse enables her to better integrate mind, body, and spirit into her counseling practice. Her passion is to help her clients become all they are meant to be and to heal from things that inhibit the process of personal growth.

Joyce uses a variety of approaches to partner with her clients and meet their individual counseling goals. She is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and is certified in level 2 restoration therapy. Joyce co-leads marriage intensives of The Hideaway Experience several times a year at Winshape using the restoration therapy model, and she brings that expertise to her practice, as well. Joyce counsels from a Christian worldview; however, she accepts clients of all faiths and worldviews without judgment or proselytizing.
