Jay Dillard | Atlanta, Dallas
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Jay considers it a true privilege to join his clients in the midst of their suffering and distress and to be part of their story. He approaches his clients from an attachment and experiential perspective in a collaborative venture that helps them delineate between avoidable and unavoidable suffering. This empowers them to change what they can while learning to cope in healthier ways and grow closer to God and others in the process. He believes that all behavior is goal-oriented, meaning all people have reasons for their choices and, on some level, are striving to make their life better, despite how good or bad those choices may be.
People make sense when you get to know them in their context—their gender, ethnicity, spirituality, socioeconomic status, age, family of origin, etc. Jay believes this eliminates the need for judgment or shame in the counseling process. He accesses the strengths already available within them and around them to help them reach their goals and a higher level of self-actualization. He works with individuals, couples, and families in the following areas of focus: depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, relationship, and more.
